Sugar Mill Plantation is on the same land scientist John James Audubon visited in 1831. It is right next to where he stayed as a guest at Bulow Creek Plantation while making a list of all the bird species in America.
Sugar Mill Plantation gets its name from the sugar mill J.J. Bulow ran on 800 acres of land at the time. That land is now a beautiful historic park with a lot of natural beauty. Sugar Mill is one of the nicest areas in Flagler Beach, and it doesn’t have a gate to keep people out.
